UNE Information Technology Services will be hosting Blackboard faculty training sessions on the Biddeford and Portland campus on the following dates: Thursday 9/24 - Biddeford - 9:00 AM-11:00 AM - Blackboard Level 1 Session; 12:00 PM-2:00 PM - Blackboard Level 1 Session Tuesday 9/29 - Biddeford - 9:00 AM-11:00 AM - Blackboard Level 1 Session; 12:00 PM-2:00 PM - Blackboard Level 2 Session Wednesday 9/30 - Portland - 9:00 AM-11:00 AM - Blackboard Level 1 Session; 12:00 PM-2:00 PM - Blackboard Level 2 Session Thursday 10/1 - Biddeford - 9:00 AM-11:00 AM - Blackboard Level 1 Session; 12:00 PM-2:00 PM - Blackboard Level 2 Session The Portland sessions will be held in Proctor 103; the Biddeford sessions will be held at the Teaching & Learning Center Model Classroom, Decary Hall 3rd floor. Session Descriptions Blackboard Introduction and Overview In this session, attendees will get a general summary of the Blackboard tool and learn about it's features. By the end of the session, attendees will understand: * what the Blackboard system is * how its tools can be used in a course * how to log on to Blackboard * how to begin to design a course * how to upload files This session is best suited for those who have never used Blackboard CE 8.0, or users of prior versions (including WebCT) who would like a general orientation to what the system can do. Blackboard Level 1 In this session, attendees will learn about some of the course-building tools available within the Blackboard system. Discussion and examples will focus on: * uploading different types of content * customizing course layout and design * enhancing learning with communication tools * creating assignments and assessments This session is ideally suited for those who have been through the Introduction and Overview, or who have used Blackboard CE 8.0 to some degree in the past. Blackboard Level 2 In this session, attendees will learn about some of the more advanced features within the Blackboard system. Discussion and demonstration will focus on: * using the grade book * using Selective Release * using Respondus This session is suited for attendees who have completed the previous two sessions, or are current Blackboard CE 8.0 users who would like to enhance their courses though the addition of additional tools.
