Professor Elizabeth De Wolfe, Ph.D., was interviewed in a Nov. 5, 2009 Biddeford-Saco-OOB Courier
story about a Saco Museum exhibition on the lives of factory girls that
was created by UNE alumnus Camille Smalley '08, program and education
manager at Saco Museum. “The biggest challenge of these mill girls was
their newfound independence,” DeWolfe said. Smalley designed the
exhibit to evoke the interior of a factory girl boardinghouse bedroom
from the 1840s. De Wolfe's most recent book is The Murder of Mary Bean and Other Stories, a study of a Saco factory girl. |
