On February 25, 2010, Anouar Majid gave a keynote address titled "Pure Selves/Impure Bodies"
to a conference organized by the University of New Mexico's Department
of Spanish and Portuguese, and co-sponosred by a number of
organizations, on the theme of "Moros, Moriscos, Marranos y Mestizos: Alterity, Hybridity and Identity in Diaspora." Two days later, he gave a "Resolana,"
or talk designed to engage the community, titled "Moros, Morsicos,
Marranos y Mestizos" and signed copies of his two latest books at the National Hispanic Cultural Center, one of the premier cultural institutions of Hispanic life in the United States. |
