Spoken Word Artist Residency with Emcee Sontiago


For students who love poetry, spoken word, hip-hop, theater, or just want to tell their story! No experience needed!

Students will develop a collaborative spoken word piece based on the idea of identity, stereotypes, labels and the falsities surrounding them. Facilitated by Sontiago, social justice artist and five-time winner of Best Hip-Hop Act in the Portland Phoenix Best Music Poll.  Instrumental beats and DJ.  Collaborative performance to open for Martin Luther King, Jr. keynote  on Wednesday, February 17th.

Artist Residency Dates (must commit to all 4 workshops and keynote performance):

Sunday, January 24   - 5:30-7:30  
Sunday, January 31 -   5:30-7:30  
Sunday, February 7 -   4:00-6:00  
Monday, February 15  6:00-8:00

All performance workshops in Wescott Room, Multipurpose Rooms, Campus Center.
