Travis Smith Reading

posted Apr 20, 2012, 8:27 AM by Liz Havu
On Tuesday, April 24, new local author and University of New England student Travis Smith will be on campus to read excerpts from, sell, and sign copies of his new book, The Garbage Men, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. He will also lead a short discussion on his personal experiences with writing and self-publishing for anyone currently interested in having their work published.
The dark psychological thriller is set in a small Alabama town beset with forces of evil as compelling as they are mysterious. Smith was born and raised in Tuscaloosa,  but moved to Maine in 2008 to attend the University of New England for a degree in medical biology. Currently applying to medical schools and pursuing a career in medicine, he enjoys writing poetry and thriller fiction.
The Garbage Men is Smith’s first publication, on which he began working at the age of 13, and he is currently beginning work on the first book of a four-part adventure saga.  The event is sponsored by APB and lunch will be provided.
