New students: First time computer account access

posted Aug 17, 2011, 6:40 AM by Malcolm Benham

One password to access most of your UNE IT services!  Blackboard, MyUNE (Google), U-Online, Lab and Library computers, and other related systems, can be accessed with one unique password. Please visit password.une.edu to setup your account.

Here is what you need to do to get started. Open a browser, IE and Firefox are currently supported, type in the URL password.une.edu. Using your Nor’Easter ID as the username, type in your default password for the portal, this will be your date of birth, mmddyy. You MUST use your default birth-date to access the portal for the first time. For example, July 1, 1985 = 070185. In a few cases, where the 6-digit date of birth is not on file, our system will recognize the last six digits of your PRN.

Once you login to the portal, you will be asked to change your password. Your password must have at least 8 characters, 1 of which needs to be a number, 1 uppercase as well as 1 lowercase character. You may use special characters in your password, however, please exclude the use of the comma and double-quotes.

Once you submit your new password, you will be prompted to setup your challenge/response questions, similarly to online banking sites that incorporate a Self-Help feature that allows you to change your password in the event that you can’t remember what you previously used.

Once you submit your challenge questions you are done. You can now logout of the password portal. Now you can access your UNE services using your Nor’Easter ID and your new password without any further steps.  If you have any questions please contact the IT HelpDesk: Toll Free 1-877-518-4673, Biddeford campus, x2200, Portland Campus, x4400 or via email helpdesk@une.edu.
