Dear UNE residential students!
Today marks the beginning of a friendly, fun competition between residence halls to see which hall can reduce it's energy consumption per student the most. Throughout the next 24 days, some Environmental Studies students will be providing you with tips for energy conservation and updates about consumption patterns common at UNE for each residence hall. Look for the viral spread of UNE Residence Hall Energy Competition on Facebook.
The residence hall that wins this first annual competition will receive a plaque for the lounge and each student will receive a "Flip It Off Winner" T-shirt with the "Do It In The Dark" nocturnal owl logo.
We hope you all will participate in this fun activity and find creative ways to conserve energy and our natural resources, while raising awareness about climate change and UNE's commitment to environmental responsibility!
And remember, Earth Hour is Saturday night 8:30 to 9:30 - a great kick off to the energy competition. This global event is brought to UNE by Earth's ECO with an acoustic jam session at the bon-fire pit from 8-10pm. A fun alternative to the semi-formal!
