Monday, Oct. 26 at 12 p.m. A Theatrical Journey through Maine’s Lesbian History Presentation by playwright and activist Carolyn Gage with theatrical monologues from members of the Group St. Francis Room, Library, Biddford Campus Lunch will be served Co-sponsored by Multicultural Affairs and UNE Women & Gender Studies Program with support from The Group, UNE's Gay/Straight Alliance Carolyn Gage, lesbian-feminist playwright, director, and activist will talk about her latest show, Greetings from Lesbos, Maine featuring stories and history of famous lesbians from Maine (or who spent time in Maine). The author of five books on lesbian theatre and fifty-five plays, musicals, and one-woman shows, Gage specializes in non-traditional roles for women, especially those reclaiming famous lesbians whose stories have been distorted or erased from history. |
